Project Introduction

 The work will feature 9 artists with and without disability from two ground-breaking companies, 'Restless Dance Theatre' and '29Dong Dance Theater' also, K-Music Project (KMP) will collaborate on music. The collaboration process will be documented by 'University of South Australia Connect 2 Abilities', for submission and screening at the 2024 Australian International Film Festival.

 A performance "Counterpoise" highlights the noise of life outside, and the quiet place within. It is a raw and compassionate moment in time, showcasing how we balance the forces of quiet loneliness and the human frenzy that press on us daily. Counterpoise asks the question, what is our universal culture? Are we heading to a tipping point of a vastly similar human experience, irrespective of the lines that divide us?

 In workshop, we will focus on the choreographic processes the company use to make work, introducing Michelle’s dance and theatre devising techniques and encourage participants to explore their own physical / dance material that can be incorporated into their own choreographic ideas.
