Project Introduction

 To commemorate the 'Korea-Italy Year of Cultural Exchanges,' jazz artists from both nations are visiting Korea. This special occasion has given rise to 'KORALE,' a collaborative project featuring two jazz artists from both Korea and Italy. Through joint creation and production, this group aims to foster sustainable collaboration and establish a new model for international cultural exchange. The Italian-based 'Giovanni Guidi Trio' and 'Susanna Stivali Duo' are also contributing to this project. Starting with the Jarasum Jazz Festival in Gapyeong, the group will perform with local artists at Suncheonman Bay National Garden Outdoor Stage and Seoul Plaza Outdoor Stage, offering collaborative performances to the audience. Additionally, workshops are planned to share artistic visions with domestic artists.

 KORALE is a newly formed project group comprised of four artists from Korea and Italy. The ensemble features intriguing instrumentation of keyboards, gayageum, bass, and drums, garnering attention for its organic flow, born from the fusion of fresh ideas and diverse musical languages. Giovanni Guidi Trio, led by the renowned Italian pianist Giovanni Guidi, will make their Korean debut this year. Their performance is anticipated to deliver dynamic sounds through beautiful melody-making, delicate performances, and the tight interplay between the rhythm sections. Susanna Stivali Duo, featuring iconic Italian jazz vocalist Susanna Stivali and pianist Alessandro Gwis, will also be performing in Korea for the first time. The duo will present a special performance inspired by beloved Italian songs and the inspiration they have received from various artists. They promise a relaxed and melodious listening experience to the audience.
