Project Introduction
In June 2024, a Brazil-South Korea collaborative contemporary dance project 'Rotas Afora' marked the beginning of 'Kore.A.Round Culture' with its three days in Busan, South Korea.
'Rotas Afora' defines the diversified beauty of communal space and time with the language of dance.
It was invited to perform at the 20th Busan International Dance Festival (BIDF) and successfully interacted with the local audience beyond the language barrier at different venues around Busan including Yongdusan Park, Songdo Beach, P.ARK, and Busan Cinema Center Haneulyeon Theatre.
After their showings in South Korea, the dancers were invited to a Brazilian dance festival DANÇA EM TRÂNSITO and presented 'Rotas Afora' in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador on July 28th, August 4th and August 6th respectively.
This cross-cultural collaborative project was co-created by a group of 10 artists from「Grupo Tápias」 of Brazil and from 「Kyunghee Dance Theater」 of South Korea.
