Project Introduction
Hanna Kiel is one of the most artistically active Korean choreographers based in Toronto, who "points past the boundaries of dance to larger socio-political fields." (Erin Baldwin)
This coming September, a contemporary dance company founded by Kiel 「Human Body Expression」 will be performing in Seoul, Korea at SIDance 2024.
More showings will be followed at Gunsan Art Center and Daegu Art Center as part of their Korean tour, and in Toronto, Canada in 2025.
What do you think would happen if we humans lose our voices, and the rules and structures of communication disappear? We will probably keep responding to each other through our movements.
The first, true human language is body language. , with this premise, exhibits different cultural perspectives, sentiments and personal narratives of 10 dancers meet within the anomalous coexistence of language barrier and body language.
Dancers in normal clothes independently and collectively deliver their stories to the audience as they ‘listen’ to their movements.
